ブランドについて About the Brand
マイケル・バルナートは、オランダのファッションデザイナーです。グラフィックデザインを原点とし、代表作モンドリアンドレスは、ファッションとアートの関係を問う展覧会のために美術館から依頼されて生まれました。
Michael Barnaart is a Dutch fashion designer with roots in graphic design. His signature work, the Mondrian dress, was commissioned by a museum for an exhibition about the relationship between fashion and art.
「リートフェルトの椅子や一枚の絵は生涯愛せるのに、なぜファッションは毎シーズン変わらなければいけないのか」——彼はそう問い続けてきました。
“Why does fashion have to change every season, while a Rietveld chair or a work of art can be something you love for your entire life?”
ブローチは、その服を彩るために生まれ、同時に原点であるグラフィックデザインへ立ち返る場所になりました。流行の意匠をまとっていないものは、流行に置いていかれません。少量生産のため、一点ずつ番号が入ります。
The brooches were born to accompany those clothes, and became the place where he returned to graphic design. Made in small batches, each one is numbered.
